The 2015 Amazing Race to Serve took place on Saturday, February 7, 2015. The entry fees helped North Coast Church reach their goal of raising $200,000 to cover materials for the 2015 Weekend of Service projects.

The event, inspired by “The Amazing Race” reality television show, features wacky costumes, zany physical challenges, jaunts on public transit and a mad dash for the finish line. This is the third time North Coast Church has held this “scavenger hunt on steroids,” which dares teams of two to follow clues leading them from Oceanside Pier to Vista without using personal vehicles.

The high-energy event started at 8:00am (check-in runs from 7-7:40am) at the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater, where each team received an envelope filled with 30 different top-secret tasks. Challenges include interaction with the public and mind-bending trivia leading to key area landmarks. Prizes are awarded for top finishers and best costumes.

The 2017 Weekend of Service will be April 29-30 and is expected to be bigger than ever. North Coast Church will cancel all church services and send their entire congregation into the community to complete over 400 high-impact projects at more than 100 sites across San Diego North County.
